The good thing about having kids and getting married is that both are events that you can wait a long time to get them done, you shouldn't feel rushed to get all of your life together relatively soon(like before age 40 for example). They should be things done when you are completely ready, whenever those things happen shouldn't matter.

After all, they are life changing events.
