I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to create a sub-forum within the Creative Backyard for sig requests.
It means that each request would have it's own thread. In the OP of each thread they would provide a description of what they want and or source pics they'd like used, also a deadline, ie. 1 day or 3 days....
Eveyone would post their attempt in the thread and the requester will then choose his favourite(s).
It'd be better than the current system we have now and would encourage more people who make sigs here to fulfil requests. I know it would get me back into it, especially with better guidelines of what people want out of a sig, and I'm sure others will start making again/more regularly.
I got the idea from another forum and it works extremely well.

If anyone is interested is having a look here is a link to the sig request sub forum... http://www.psu.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=135

It'd be a great addition to the CB, and make it more active.

    Thoughts?...

Hmm, when I read your post 2 things come to mind:

    • It could increase participation in the forum greatly, and be of great benefit to everyone.
    • Or it could end up cluttering the forum with threads, all of which would have 1-2 replies.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I just wouldn't want to see it hurt the forum from the way it is right now. Because (on the hole) I really enjoy the way it is setup right now.

Anyways, that's my opinion. Cheers sid!

Cool, but having a sub forum within the CB would eliminate the cluttering because it'd be it's own thing. Requests over say three days would die naturally having been fulfilled and only the newest threads/requests would be at the top of the forum.
I know what your're saying, but I've seen it working and it gets a great vibe about the place, and it make the requester feel better having multiple people trying out the request.

Oooh! I get it now, I totally missed the 'sub-forum' concept. Yeah that would be a good idea, and I think it'd work real well.

Although I don't think just the 2 of us can make it happen! ;)

I like the idea A lot.....the request thread is cluttered with lots of requests for sigs.....and it is hard to follow sometimes.....Lot's of stuff gets lost......IMO.... Plus the person requesting the sig would know right where to go......and not have to sift thru all the other stuff...I tend to hesitate to do a sig when I see a request filled.....

not in here, but you can create a thread like Sid suggested. Be sure to include plenty of information, source material and ideas.
