I've been thinking of moving to the country but it's no good without a car. Couldn't get anywhere.

 

I've lived in the same small-ish northern German city at the Baltic Sea shore for all my life.

 

I like the country, but I don't care for small town life, at least not that small. 400 odd people = 200 adults in truth. Gossip is the local activity and everyone knows what you're up to, whether you like it or not. I didn't so I left. Besides, I was 70 miles from the closest WalMart, a proposition I find unexceptable now days.

Wheels are a must out in the boonies.

Do you ever travel?

 

I only started to travel a few years ago when I met a man from NYC. I flew there to meet him, alone, for the first time in my life on a plane, going to another country all by myself, to meet a man I knew nothing about except for the things he told me. He could have been a serial killer.
All went well though, and I got a taste for travelling. Been to NYC again twice after that, to London and to Florida. I also went to a few other European cities.

I would travel more if I had the money.

 

I'm impressed that you would take that risk, especially to NYC of all places! sounds like something I would do.

I've never been to NYC so you're one up on me in places I'd like to visit. Actually 2 when you count Florida. I've been there but only to the very western tip of the panhandle.

I want to visit Germany in a bad way, wish I could afford it the airfare. Pretty sure I could mooch free lodging off phun members when I get there!

You could tour the whole of Germany from North to South, we're pretty much evenly spread.

NYC was great, I'm a sucker for art so I visited lots of museums and marvelled at paintings I only ever saw in books. Very impressive for me.
I also stayed on Long Island during one of my visits, I just loved it there, the beaches are amazing.

That would be my primary reason to visit NYC, the art. That, and to see the Late Show with David Letterman.

I think I'd like to live in a small town....I'd enjoy the quiet and beautiful scenery....then again it might be weird not to have every kind of store in a one block radius.
