Just watching a TBBT rerun till dinner.

 

Im watching the same thing.. Just finished my meatloaf, mac and cheese, and mash potatoes

 

Interesting. Here in the south, dinner is a more formal or sit down lunch, whereas supper is the evening meal. I realize this is not so throughout the country.

 

I call it dinner, but what I eat on worknights is not real "dinner." In the north they call it both supper or dinner, depending on what their parents called it.

 

Here in Va, they will call any meal from 4pm ish to 8pm ish dinner or supper. They pretty much switch the words in and out with both.

 

Time to eat....

I think, even down here, the dinner for the midday meal is a bit old fashion and beginning to fade. I think it goes back at least 100 years when most people worked there farms. It is so hot and humid down here that the worker (that were mostly family members on the routine farms) would knock off at about 11 AM to cool off by washing up, sitting under fans, etc. then eat followed by napping under fans until about 3PM when they would return to the fields....after the worst heat of the day. They would knock off at dusk and were too tired and thirsty to eat much and would be in bed within an hour after dark.

Some people I know eat around 4pm. Others eat between 7 or 8pm. My family is in the 5pm - 6pm range. Sometimes its late, and maybe 7 or 7:30pm.

 

Any idea why she is not eating?

 

My parents always ate at 5:45 PM. Now, I eat when I am hungry.

No. She seems and is acting fine/normal. She just sometimes does not eat until later at night. I don't worry about it, but I will not leave her food outside over night.....too many critters may be attracted.
