Yesterday it "rained" dust here. I didn't care for that a bit.

Yeah, for lack of a better description. It was overcast, windy and dusty. Not as severe as a haboob. Kind of hard to describe, but in the glow of the street lamps it looked like raining dust. If it had actually rained, it would have been raining mud.

 

That must have looked surreal, Scribe.

 

Yes. I'm looking at the forecast. Instead of being 112 it will only be 107!

BTW, the first few introductory seconds of the video shows an haboob.

 

I can never remember so much of Florida covered with so much rain for so long that was not associated with a tropical system....:shock:

 

Aren't they all tropical systems in a sense? Or is this one coming from the north?

 

There is no cyclonic weather system, but rather a major dip in the jet stream that is drawing air off the Gulf and over the State. This is the fourth day of it...

 

I don't watch much weather. At this point in the year, once it's hot, that's what it is, hot. Sometimes it rains but mostly it doesn't. The worst weather related phenomena is wildfire. A wildfire about 70 miles northwest of here killed 19 firefighters over the weekend when it didn't act as expected, trapping them. Wildfires create their own weather. It was a horrible tragedy.
